Guangzhou, China

17 Sept
We landed in Guangzhou Baiyun Airport at around 5 pm, luckily this time they brought all our luggages correctly. We took airport taxi to our hotel Guangzhou Jinyi Hotel (广州金艺宾馆)in Yue Xiu District (越秀区). It's around 500m walk to Subway Line 2 Haizhu Square Station (海珠广场站) and walking distance to the famous Beijing Road (北京路). The hotel is quite old, but still in good condition for RMB285/night.

We started our day trip in Guangzhou by visiting Temple of Six Banyan Tree (六容寺). The temple could be reach by Subway Line 2, alight at Gong Yuan Qian Station (公园前站). It was on Saturday, hence we could see lots of local people coming to pray.
Flower Pagoda (花塔)
The next stop is Sun Yat Sen's Memorial Hall (中山纪念堂) again by Subway Line 2 alight at Memorial Hall Station (纪念堂站). Unfortunately, we came too late, it closes at 12.30 everyday. So we only could take some pictures from outside.

We went back to Haizhu Square Station (海珠广场站) for lunch and take a peek to Sacred Heart Cathedral (圣心堂), a Roman Catholic Church built in the 18th century. The church has western style building which is beautifully designed with colourful glass.
